Common reasons these errors appear
These codes often show up when:
A previous Office installation wasn’t fully removed
Temporary setup files are incomplete or corrupted
Antivirus/firewall settings are blocking the installation
Windows updates are pending or the system is not fully updated
The installer file being used is outdated
How to fix it
Restart your PC
A reboot clears temporary locks and resets background services that can interfere with installation.
Remove older Office versions completely
If Office was installed before (even partially), leftover components can cause setup failures.
Use the uninstall option built into your automatic Office installer (recommended), remove the existing Office version, restart the PC, and then run the installer again.
Temporarily disable antivirus or firewall protection
Security tools can block the installer while it downloads or writes files.
Temporarily disable third-party antivirus (if installed) and, if needed, pause real-time protection, then retry the installation. Re-enable protection after Office finishes installing.
Use a stable internet connection
If the installer downloads files during setup, make sure your connection is stable. If possible, use a wired connection instead of Wi-Fi and avoid VPNs or restrictive networks during installation.
Use a fresh installer file
If your installer was downloaded a while ago, use the most recent installer from your delivery instructions, or request an updated installer if needed—especially when installing newer Office editions.
